finally some photos of our shops. i've been waiting for the signs we were promised a month and a half ago, to start snapping photos, but tired of waiting and started snapping anyway.
the blue building is a summer kitchen, imported from carthage, years ago. it is our fabric & notions shop. the "phelps" building is a prop from the movie "legacy". it houses most of our antique quilts.
inside the blue building:
tashi cutting fat quarters & fat eighths, amid vintage & antique quilts, quilt blocks, & fabrics, patterns, 1800s & 1930s reproduction fabrics, books, gifts, handmade goodies, etc.
inside the "phelps" building: antique quilts and baby clothes. brock remodeled the interior of this building before we moved in:
the pink wild goose chasequilt top above and below was made in the 1840s or 50s and gloria's. wefound it while antiquing. love it!
the quilt below was also made in the 1840s.
if you're going to be in nauvoo, stop in and see us....

I stopped by on friday. Brook was running the shops so I missed you. LOVE the shops. Your reproduction fabrics are great! I want to bring Eliza up to choose some for a new 1840's Dress. I love the fat quarters. are they reproduction fabrics too? Thanks for shareing your wonderful quilts!

Thanks everyone! We are having fun!
Gina, No, we aren't doing the photography this summer, someone else is, which we are glad about.
Mary, Yes, the fat quarters are our same repros...all the fabrics we sell are repros. Do come and get fabric for Eliza's dress when you can! If Brock or someone else is watching the shops, they can call me, and I'll come on over.

The shops are so perfect. I have been telling everyone at church to come over when they're in Nauvoo. I saw another lovely quilt at an estate sale this weekend. I wished you were with me since I agonize over whether it is overpriced, etc.

It definitely is very cute. It has a good feel to it just from the pics. So what are the nearby shops? How far from your house?

I love it! I think it must be so fun for your family to share in this business together. What a treasure.
