after a drive home from st louis in freezing rain that took 1 1/2 hours longer than it should (ice storms on the day we left and the day we came home, plus one more day in between - school has been canceled like crazy), gracie and i are home and experiencing the newness and the magic of having everything, everything, EVERYTHING out of doors (including roads) coated in ice - a first for us.
i had a wonderful time with family, an did very little else than to just be with family, which was perfect. i especially enjoyed the time spent with each of my grandmas. i spent more one-on-one time with them (plus gracie) than i can remember doing since i was a child. i'm not sure if i've ever mentioned it, but i have two of the very best grandmothers in the world. my friends have always agreed. they are amazing. and although each of them has nearly 50 grandchildren, they manage to make me feel like i'm the most important person in their lives. grandma c. has 190 descendants now, including those who have joined the family by marriage. she has over 90 great grandchildren, is expecting two more this month, and will be a great great grandma in april.
*natasha took the photos of the crabapple tree, the christmas lights, and the pine tree above.
Natasha takes some awesome photos! I love the colored Christmas lights in ice.

These are wonderful pictures! I have set the one with the berries in the tree and the white fence as my background!! Awesome pictures! But I must say I will stick with Utah snow and skip the ice storms! We are having a white Christmas this year! I love your blog and am glad for the chance to keep up on you and Lexi!!!
