Did you sell everything or were you able to keep some things for yourself? They look great.

Livia, in 3rd grade, had a teacher who, at parent teacher conference asked her to set a goal of "it doesn't have to be perfect." It was a little sad that an 8 year old was having difficulties with her perfectionism already.

I think as women, we all tend to have problems with this. Feeling like we aren't doing enough, or not doing it well enough. I go on binges. I am gone and busy all the time and then I make myself take a break from everything, which feels so good, but then I think about all the things I neglected and will have to catch up on and I am overwhelmed. I think you have the perfect combination. Just concentrate on quality, not quantity. And the fact that you made things for the fair that you would want in case they didn't sell, took a lot of pressure off of you. Good job, Julie!!

This month is such a special one, it's birthday time for you. I'd really like to celebrate this happy day with you! Zippity-ay and Heidi-ho there's something I can do. I'll sing a song that we all know, Happy Birthday, to you!!!

I write this poem from me to you
So you can forget some of the things I've put you through
I will do anything that I hear you say
Because I love you and today's your special day
Today I'll be your one and only personal slave
I will get you anything that you crave
If you don't feel good we'll all just be in the house to stay
We'll take care of you, and fix you dinner while you lay
If somebody upsets you and makes you mad
Just beat them down instead of feeling blue and sad
You're the closest thing to a real mom that I could ever want
Even if we get mad and we start to taunt
I love you mom with all my heart
When our growing relationship was beginning to start
So we all need to love and stay together
Or our hearts will break and rip like a feather
Today is a great day without any stress
Because your day will be perfect and nothing less
I hope you have fun and just be cool
Even though I really missed you today at school
But the day is over and I am finally here
It's just a routine that we play year by year
You don't need to worry about what I say or do
Because all of my attention will be on you
So I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday
And to tell you that I am here to stay
To make sure nothing gets in your way
And if we have a bad situation that is filled with mistakes
We'll still be a family
I'll do whatever it takes

I love the pillows! Where was this craft fair at? Was in the annual Fillmore craft bazaar?

Julie S

Yes Mic, it was.

Thanks for the poems Em & Lex.

I sold a little more than half my stuff Em. The stuff I expected to sell didn't, and the stuff I didn't expect to sell did. The wall quilts were popular, the pillows not so much so.

Happy Happy Birthday, Julie dear. Happy days will come to you all year. If I had one wish, then it would be, a happy happy birthday to you, from me! Thanks Em for reminding me of all those primary songs! haha

Too bad you don't have me for Christmas, because you could unload some of those unsold items on me. Maybe next year?

em, i didn't see this comment until AFTER i gave you a pillow!
